Five tips for the bride on her wedding day

There’s so much going on on your wedding day – so many emotions to feel, people to greet, pictures to smile for – that it can be a bit overwhelming.

To make sure you don’t forget anything, and to help you relax when the special day arrives, we’ve compiled a list of our top five tips for brides:

  1. Eat and be merry

Ask one of your bridesmaids to make sure that you’ve had something to eat – while getting ready and then throughout the day. Even if it’s just a granola bar or something. The last thing you need is to have the champagne go completely to your head because you’ve forgotten to eat in the middle of all the wedding activity!

  2. Take it home

You pour so much time and energy into creating Pinterest-worthy elements for your wedding day. Make a list of things you would like to take home after the wedding so you don’t lose these in the clean-up.

  3. Worth 1000 words

Ask any bride and she will tell you that your day goes by so fast. The first thing you’ll feel like doing when you wake up the next morning is to relieve it through the photos. Waiting for all your (hungover) guests to upload their pics on Facebook might be the last thing you feel like doing. Avoid this by giving a trusted friend your camera and asking him/her to take some special pics just for you throughout the day. That way, you can look at photos as soon as you wake up.

  4. Made for walking

If you’ve chosen to wear heels and you’re not used to them, take a second pair of comfortable flats to change into at the reception. You’ll enjoy your day so much more if you feel comfortable and can dance up a storm.

  5. Wear your wedding dress to breakfast

It seems a bit sad to spend your life dreaming about the perfect wedding dress and then only wear it for one day. Why not wear it to breakfast the next day? Wear it out to lunch. You just got married – and the more people who know about it, the better, right?
